In traditional Balinese dance-drama, Barong engages in a symbolic battle against Rangda, illustrating the balance between good and evil. One of the most iconic moments is the kris dance, where performers enter a deep trance and press ceremonial daggers against themselves, yet remain unharmed under spiritual protection.
The Barong figure is traditionally brought to life by two dancers within an intricately crafted costume. The statue reflects these rich cultural elements, featuring detailed craftsmanship and symbolic ornamentation, including a beard adorned with frangipani flowers, believed to embody spiritual energy.
